Dear Jenny, Lorraine and Caroline I was so sorry and sad to hear about Bob's illness and rapid decline. He was a special man and larger than life, quite literally. I have very fond memories of the times I used to spend at the Whitfield home in my teens. I was always made to feel very welcome by both Bob and Jenny...the tea times were a chatty time and Bob always had a good story or two to tell. He will be missed by many. RIP Bob...Abbie xxx

It was with great sadness that Bob passed away at home but he was so fortunate to have you at his side holding his hands and this I sincerely hope allowed him to rest peacefully and gave the three of you some solace. In the relatively short time I had the pleasure to know him, he was a true gent from an era when the values of a military man and Police Officer stood out a mile. Sadly missed but never forgotten.
